Old cigar factory in Friesenheim

The cigar factory in Friesenheim was used commercially until the Dolphin Group took over the cultural monument in 2013. Now, living space is being created here. The construction work is already in progress.

In the old cigar factory in Friesenheim, the construction works inside the building began. Already in spring, the construction site was set up though. Now the next steps have started: the gutting and the demolition of the shed roofed hall and the intermediate building. The project management is satisfied with the pace at which the construction progresses. The wooden truss, the brick roofing and interior lining have already been removed. The next step is the demolition of the gable of the intermediate structure, which previously required the approval for a pavement closure.

The Dolphin Group is renovating the striking building on Oberweierer Hauptstraße in Friesenheim to build 43 apartments of various sizes. The apartments between 55 and 175 square meters are all equipped with a balcony or a winter garden. It is important for the project management that, despite the comprehensive renovation, the historic details of the listed industrial building are preserved and, at the same time, new living space with modern energy standards is created.
